“We’ve all been performing, writing and producing music for as long as we can remember, not because we desire fame or riches but because music, performing and making an audience smile, stirs our souls.”-Indie Artist, Ms. Lauren Barnett
The Total Exposure family is an eclectic group of artists with an impressive list of accolades. Meet the band.
Lauren Barnett-Lead Vocals, Band Leader
A spitfire and entertaining dynamo who treasures her countless musical memories including touring Russia as a band member for the MGM recording star Gloria Gaynor, the emotional excitement of being a signed artist on the Indie label Interscope Records and the artistic power of working side by side in song writing sessions with award winning songwriter/producer, R. Kelly. Lauren attributes her raw talent to great family genes; she is the proud niece of the legendary “Queen of Beach Music”, Ms. Janice Barnett. Lauren’s claim to fame, “I have a ridiculous memory for song lyrics-count to date is somewhere around 300”!
Karl A.-Keyboards, Music Director
Coach of the Total Exposure team, Karl offers the band musical leadership, entertainment know-how and brings a history of musical achievements. Rounding out these honors; playing keyboards for the award winning Atlanta girl band, TLC and recipient of multiple Grammy Nominations as a Producer for the musical giants J. Holiday, Charlie Wilson and Nivea.
Arle M.-Lead Vocals, Choreography
The movie and television actress in the Total Exposure family, Arle exhibits on stage “star power” that keeps the party rocking! A Christmas album titled “Tis The Season” and acting roles in three full length movies are just a few of this beauties performing accomplishments.
Daryl H.-Lead Vocals
From the Broadway Stage to a Bob Hope Birthday Special, 3 World Tours with the Air Force Elite Entertainment Showcase and countless music video appearances; let’s name drop a few: Snoop Dog, Outkast, Ja Rule, T.I, Bow Wow and Lil Jon, there is no doubt that Daryl and his smooth vocal style can bring an audience to their feet!
Chanel S.-Lead Vocals, Choreography
This British gem with a Jamaican heritage has been in the spotlight as a singer and song writer for the better part of her life. She has appeared on entertainment television programs sharing her vocal talents on the U.S. based X-Factor and VH1 Master of the Mix Hip Hop Show and in Jamaica appearing on the program Onstage. Chanel has been exposed to a variety of musical styles and through world travels, has participated in the cultures associated with them.
Sheryl-Drums
Do not let her humble and somewhat shy personality fool you, this lady can keep the beat! The drummer is the driving force behind a great rhythm section and ultimately, the success of the entire band. Due to her “banging” skills, Ms. Sheryl lead the pulse of numerous high profile tours performing as the drummer for Pebbles, Babyface, Bobby Brown, T-pain, Kurt Carr, Shirley Caesar and Tyler Perry. As if those accolades are not enough, Ms. Sheryl had the distinct honor to perform at the White House for Black History Month and again in 2008 for President George W. Busch.
Dehra Robinson-Fashion Designer
“Seamstress for the band”, Ms. Robinson is the artistic fashion eye behind the Total Exposure chic wardrobe style. She too has a resume filled with prominent clients and awards-designer for Ms. Denzel Washington, Joann Rosario, The Perfect 10 Band, The Ballroom Blasters and Party on the Moon. She has also been the Assistant Designer to Stephen Fairchild (Calvin Klein), Head Designer for Carry Him, Inc. and held a featured spot in Jezebel Magazine
